This little joint at the back lane Chulia Street serves one of the best nyonya kuih in town.

I remember they have been the wholesaler of these delicacies to smaller traders including the Indian Laksa Sellers on trishaw.

Price are reasonable but the kuih comes in smaller portion, which is good as a bite size. They also serve other menu like Laksa, Popiah, Pie Tee and other. Not to forget that their Nasi Lemak is utmost delicious.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 1030 – 1700

Pudu Claypot Chicken Rice

禢記瓦煲雞飯 (Heun Kee) @ Pudu

Located at Jalan Yew under the flyover bridge near Pudu Pasar. This particular shop serves fantastic charcoal flamed claypot chicken rice.

Their cooking is done outside the shop where you can witness the flaming charcoal and the process of cooking. Cleaned rice and the well marinated various parts of chicken, chinese waxed sausages and the special mixed soya sauce are used.

The pot we had was served with 2 chicken wings and other breats parts with peefect tenderness. The rice is so fragrance and cooked to perfection.

Other than the claypot chicken rice, they do have dishes like Rice Wine Chicken, Vegetables and some double boiled soups.

To avoid the long waiting time, you may pre-order your pot 45min in advance.

This beach front restaurant has been operating for at least 2 to 3 decades under the Paramount Hotel.

Fee of their famous dishes are the Baked Cheese Crab, Steamed Fish or Curry Fish with Meehoon, Spring Rolls with Crab Meats, Fried Spring Chicken.

Penang Lebuh Macallum 新蓮香飯店

This shop serve one of the famous Hokkien cuisine in Penang. Operating under the Flats shiplot, they are popular with their Oyster Noodles.

The shop is always crowded and do expect a minimum wait of 45 min.
Other pupular dishes here are the Fried Oyster Omelette, Fried Tang Hoon, Bak Kee soup, Beancurds with Leak.

Business starts around 12:00pm until sold out maybe at 17:00pm. Closed on Sunday.

Penang Stacks Burger

This new store runs a simple operation with few tables in one of the old houses along Siam Road, however, it is air conditioned.

Only one type of burger on the menu, which is the Pork Burger. You have the options to add on extra patty, Streaky Beacon, Fried Egg, Mozzarella Cheese.

The burger is served with the Charcoal bun which makes it special. The usual greens, fried onion will be there together with their specially made mayonnaise and BBQ sauce.

Overall rating is good except the service a bit slow and the buns are not hot.

KL Beef Noodle

The decades old store is serving the KL style beef noodle with minced meats. The wanton noodle with the minced meats on top. Once mixing well, it is such a perfect combination. Served with another bowl of soup with your choice of any parts of the beef as well as the beef balls.

However, hygiene wise is not well maintained.
